The Backstreet, Wentworth Mews, Mile End, E3

About The Backstreet

The Backstreet is London’s longest established leather and rubber venue, and is located just a couple of minute’s walk from Mile End tube station. It has a strict dress code, so you must be in appropriate gear – either leather or rubber; obviously, for the BLUF parties, you’ll need to come in BLUF gear.

Entrance charges

Entrance charges for BLUF events at The Backstreet are now the same as for other events at the club, which is £4 for members of The Backstreet, or £7 otherwise; additionally, Backstreet members gain free entry before 10.45pm at weekends. We would encourage you to join The Backstreet, which costs only £15 a year.

Normal entrance charges apply at other times, including discounts for members of The Backstreet, and concessions, depending on what gear you’re wearing.

Important information

Full details of the club‘s dress code are on The Backstreet’s own web site; please note that, in line with the BLUF dresscode, nazi insignia and uniforms may not be worn at The Backstreet, and you will be refused entrance.

If it’s a while since you’ve visited The Backstreet, please note that the entry concessions have swapped nights – you can now gain free entrance if wearing tall boots on a Friday night, and if in full rubber on a Saturday night.

Getting to The Backstreet

From Mile End tube station (which is on the Central, District and Hammersmith & City lines), turn left as you exit the station; take the next turning on the left, and then the first on the right, into Wentworth Mews. The club entrance is through black double doors on the right, just after the end of the roadway.

If you are coming by bus, alight at Mile End; the location of The Backstreet is shown on this map, and the Journey Planner link below will suggest other ways to reach the club. When you’re leaving, you can ask at the door for a cab to be called for you; the service is usually quite quick, and reasonably priced.
